SOME TIPS ON WHAT TO DO AT A PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEW

BEFORE YOU GO...

talk to your child to find out if there are things to be discussed with the teacher
make a list of things you want to talk about -
for example:

- what the teacher expects from my child;
- how my child's work is being evaluated;
- school activities in which I can participate that will help my child;
- how much time to be spent on homework each night;
- how my child is getting along with other students.

WHEN YOU ARE AT THE INTERVIEW...

make the report card and the interview a positive experience. Remember, no child sets out to fail in life; work together to make the future brighter.

ASK THE TEACHER...

what you can do to help your child;
ask for positive comments about your child;
how is my child doing compared to classroom expectations

AFTER YOU GO...

talk to your child about the meeting and pass on the positive comments made by the teacher;
feel free to call the teacher if you think that it is necessary;
be involved with your child in creating a positive learning environment;
