CyberCash Secure Merchant Payment System - CashRegister 2.1

The CyberCash Secure Merchant Payment System, or SMPS, is the web server's equivalent of a real store's cash register and Point of Sale (POS) terminal for credit card processing. Like today's automated POS systems, the CyberCash system interfaces with a customer's CyberCash Wallet (or merchant's secure order page) on the font end and with CyberCash Gateway Servers on the back end to the existing infrastructure of banks, financial networks, and payment processors. Unlike physical POS systems, CyberCash substitutes an online payment mechanism for an in-store (e.g. card-swipe) payment terminal. Besides enabling secure credit card processing, the SMPS provides merchants with important administrative functions including manual card processing, transaction status checking, and database functions to support balancing, accounting and inventory.

CyberCash Pricing
The cost for Cybercash is a $50 installation fee and a monthly bill of $20/month.

Additional Information
With our continued interest in providing Beck Web customers with the most popular on-line solutions, we have configured a dedicated CyberCash SMPS (Secure Merchant Payment Server, CashRegister 2.1) for our virtual server clients. This service enables an on-line business to securely process customer credit cards, e.g. authorizations and captures, via the Internet.

In order for us to setup the merchant account (the cost is $50 setup, ($20/month), please do the following:

1. Merchant's bank must complete "CyberCash Merchant Setup Form" and fax to CyberCash, 703-620-4215. If their bank does not support CyberCash, the customer may want to consider reviewing www.cybercash.com/cybercash/financial/bankfin.html, or contact bank@cybercash.com and ask CyberCash to contact their bank in their behalf.

2. Merchant must go to www.cybercash.com/cybercash/merchants/servlic.html and complete the online registration form to register for the service. They will not assign you a merchant ID until the above two actions have been completed.

3. When the merchant has completed the above, we can create a merchant account on the SMPS (Secure Merchant Payment Server, CyberCash CashRegister 2.1). We will need:

a. The merchant's company name, domain name, and user name

b. "Processor" (ckfree, fdc, mapp, ndc, nova, wells, etc)

c. Type of "capture" (authorization/capture, or authorization only)

The install manual states:
"Note that the processor and method of capture for your particular store will be specified by your bank during the enrollment process."
