Miva
Miva Miva, formerly HTMLScript, is a Web applications development suite that allows developers to create complex Web applications with little or no programming experience. Miva includes a server based program, called the Miva Empresa Engine, which functions as a pre-processor that reads and interprets the special HTML-like Miva Script language and then outputs the HTML to the browser.

Miva works with Java, JavaScript, VBScript, and all browsers. Miva is also supported by HoTMetal PRO 5.0 from SoftQuad, a powerful development suite for authoring and publishing sophisticated Web sites.

Currently, there is no cost for the use of the Miva Empresa Engine on our Virtual Servers. It is provided for use on our Virtual Servers free of charge. This is dependent on the vendor and is subject to change at any time.

Installation
To install Miva on your Virtual Server, simply Telnet or SSH to your server and run the following install script at the command prompt:

% /usr/local/contrib/miva-install
Although this release should be backward compatible, the miva-install script does not replace any existing HTMLscript files from prior distributions. Therefore, if you are Upgrading Miva/HTMLScript, we strongly advise you to concurrently run both Miva and the prior version of HTMLScript to ensure that your existing applets continue to function properly. If errors are reported, we recommend that you make the necessary conversion to your HTMLScript applets so that you can take advantage of the support for and performance enhancements of the new Miva release.

The distribution is bundled with many ready to run applications. These are also available at:

Documentation
Online Miva documentation can be found in the Miva Administrator Manual, which is included in the installation distribution above, and the Miva Script Reference Manual. The Miva Corporation also provides unlimited free support for Miva via a threaded web based discussion forum and an email list server group.
